Board member of the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) Olamide Oyedeji says that the D'tigers of Nigeria could be in danger of missing out on the FIBA World Cup if things are not order in good time to achieve that set goal.
Olumide who is also the President of the Olympians Association of Nigeria hinted that whether the D'tigers finish first by winning all their matches would still count for nothing except FIBA opens its back door for Nigeria to qualify.
"Insanity is doing the wrong thing repeatedly but expecting a different outcome, we missed the opportunity at the phase of the qualifiers and now we have a tough time playing against Angola who are ahead of us in Luanda".
According to him, it will be an unpardonable act of missing the FIBA World Cup and no excuses would be good enough as an explanation.
"One of the main reasons we might miss out on the world cup this year maybe selfish and short-sighted decisions taken, we could have done better from the get go".
The former Nigerian international star opined that the nation's basketball has hit its lowest ebb in the last two years.
"We must avoid making another mistake going into this final qualifying series but there is little or nothing else to do at this time".
