Jalla Chides Pinnick Concerning Abandoned Project.

ABADONED FIFA GOAL PROJECT AT UGBORODO COMMUNITY.

Ugborodo is an oil rich community situated at the Escravos bar at the bank of the Atlantic ocean, Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State.

Ugborodo Comprises 7 subset communities. Ugborodo is the base of multinational oil giant Chevron Nigeria Limited and also host to Shell Petroleum Development Company Limited (SPDC). Oil Wells and facilities of both Chevron and Shell crisscross the 7 sub communities of Ugborodo. Despite being the major community producing the bulk of the Nations wealth, Ugborodo has no state or Federal government presence. No quality schools, no health care facilities, no pipe bourne water, no electricity, no roads/Bridges connecting it to any major city. The only project that would have been a federal government presence is the proposed oil and gas Export processing zone ( EPZ) initiated by former President Goodluck Jonathan Administration which remains a mirage after the ground breaking in May 2015.

So it was a huge relief to the community and  people of Ugborodo particularly the youths when FIFA GOAL PROJECT was approved 3 years ago. That FIFA being a reputable global organisation would deliver the project within time for the benefit of the teeming youth of the community. But a recent fact finding Visit to the FIFA goal project site at Madangho in Ugborodo Community with 27 pictorial shots and Video Clips revealed a complete abandoned project. Other than a vast land acquired for the project, a wooden structure, a tractor, concrete mixer, a small security post structure, a makeshift zinc store, nothing else to show for the project. The site is already over grown by weeds. In a bid to unravel the circumstances surrounding the abandoned project this writer would be relying on the freedom of information Act ( FOIA) to inquire from NFF and FIFA why the project has remained abadoned and how much funds have already been injected into it.

States Football Associations Should Adopt the Ekiti FA Model - Dr. Babatunde 'Tee' Akinbinu

Akinkunle Bolarinwa  Executive Board Member of the Ondo State Football Association, Dr. Babatunde 'Tee' Akinbinu has advised State Football Associations Chairmen in Nigeria to borrow the template for football development exemplified by Ekiti State Football Association in the last three and half years. "The reason why Ekiti State FA works and looks so beautiful is because Mr Bayo Lanlege the Ekiti FA chairman threw his hat in the ring and is leading from the front on matters of football development in Ekiti State without any subvention funding from the Government of Ekiti State." The sagacious Sports Physician asserts that Nigeria needs pragmatic leadership to lead the new path for football development.  "It is a huge irony that I am in Ondo and he is in Ekiti, really. If we had 30 State FA Chairmen in Nigeria like Mr Lanlege of the Ekiti State FA, out of the 37 State FA Chairmen we have in Nigeria, we would NOT be talking about bad governance in football admini...
