Erudite sports journalist and sports aficionado, Colin Udoh has called on football authorities to make the arbiters of the game accountable for their decisions, not tuck them away on the basis of no disclosure rules.
According to the former media of the Super Eagles of Nigeria, everybody that participates in a football organisation must be processed to give account for their stewardship.
"Football (soccer) needs to learn from this.
FIFA (and its members) need to make refs accountable for their decisions, not hiding them away".
He opined that players and coaches also need to take accountability for their own actions on the pitch.
"It's not every time, "we were robbed", let's everyone come and say what they did and how they did it".
The veteran journalist gave an illustration where the coach of the losing Philadelphia Eagles an (NFL American football) team was asked about the penalty call and he shrugged it off and said he is not the ref and that one call did not decide the entire game, even though Eagles fans are still baying about it.
Colin agreed that the coach was right in some way because the game did turn on that call, but it was not the only reason they lost and that was a 50-50 call.
"Our football coaches would have been going on and on and on about it.This is true accountability" he stated .
