Professional pitch construction engineer, Honourable Ebi Egbe has given an update on the state of the Ogborodo FIFA goal project.
Honourable Egbe, the CEO of Monimichelle pitch construction company said the project is still on course.
"The point is, the project has never been abandoned. We have staff residing and working in Ogborodo, we spent over a year cutting down the 10% steep slope to a level that is suitable for a stadium construction, the overgrown grasses in his picture is actually the pitch level , the pitch level and drainage was constructed over a year ago".
He said the construction has gone through different stages and will be completed as at when due.
"The pavilion was just recently constructed and there are different stages on that pavilion construction, starting from cutting down the site 10% steep slope on 2 hectares of land to the required level of the facilities, a full raft foundation, form works casting, filling, mechanical and electrical and matting of the base and columns, before the main pavilion rungs iron work, form work before casting of the pavilion which was recently done, we must wait minimum 21 days to remove the form work".
He enumerated the challenges facing the project.
"The Ogborodo terrain is a totally different ball game, the Ogborodo land is not a stable land so must be completely rafted. We are working with a red-line drawing prepared by the consultant".
He opined that the project is not shredded with secrecy and everybody including the NFF are working round the clock to finish the project on time.
"I will not blame the NFF because the project has a FIFA paid consultant who was paid to do a proper preliminary inspection and survey of the site before coming up with a bid document".
