Nigeria's D'tigers were nowhere to be found when the world basketball body FIBA introduced the qualified countries for the 2023 FIBA World Cup.
You will recall that the D'tigers made a last attempt to navigate into the world cup channel during the last qualifying window in Angola.
After back to back victories in the group games, the aspirations of the Nigerian side was cut short by the defeat to Angola.
Following the conclusion of the qualifiers on Monday, the 32-team field for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 has been confirmed with the final tickets claimed in the February 2023 window.
With 17 of the 32 spots in the 19th edition of FIBA's flagship men's basketball event formalised before the last two game days, Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Dominican Republic, Egypt, Georgia, Iran, Jordan, Mexico, Montenegro, Puerto Rico, Serbia, South Sudan, USA and Venezuela were the last ones to stamp their participation to complete the list.
Africa: Angola, Cape Verde, Cote d'Ivoire, Egypt, South Sudan.
