One Million Naira Up For Grabs At The Basketball League Benue (BLB)

Former Nigeria National team basketball star Orseer Ikyaator who is Founder of the Orseer Ikyaator Foundation and new owner/President of Gboko City Chiefs Basketball team has agreed to reward the winner of the prestigious Basketball League Benue (BLB) with the sum of one million naira.


According to statement made available to Apexmedia through the President of the Basketball League Benue (BLB) Mr Fanen Iornem, the initiative to host the yearly basketball league is to reignite the passion of the game and grow the game further. 


According to him, the league is getting better and bigger and the cash prize will go a long way to motivate all the teams. 


"We are raising the standard in the absence of national leagues" 

BLB is now adding to the basketball ecosystem".


Meanwhile the playoffs for this year’s edition will start from 14th-19th of this month February at the altra modern basketball court Aper Aku Stadium, Makurdi, Benue State. 


"We got support from an Ex International basketball player Orseer Ikyaator who is using his foundation Orseer Ikyaator Foundation to sponsor the league and we are grateful to him, he (Orseer) is a man that has seen it all in terms of basketball in the county, he has come to invest in the sport and to help grow and popularize basketball by giving back and supporting initiatives that will see athelates progress."


Some of the interesting features in the league playoffs this year, would include dunking, three points and free throw contest.
