Recalcitrant social media commentator, Harrison Jalla alleged that the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) received FIFA 3.0 project funds.
According to the Task Force, President of the Professional Footballers Association of Nigeria (PFAN), FIFA has commenced forward 3.0 funds from January 2023 and Federations including the NFF have started receiving funds for the next phase of development.
Although the controversial Jalla didn't back his allegation with any evidence neither did he state any particular project the fund was attached to.
In 2016 FIFA initiated a four years pilot financial assistance scheme for all its members titled the FIFA forward 1.0 and 2.0. The concept is to assist federations in the development of infrastructures such as Secretariat, mini stadium, technical training centres and befitting camping facilities for all categories of the national teams male and female.
The dividends of these funds from FIFA is glaring in African countries like Senegal, Morocco, Gambia, and Cameroun.
