Rising Stars Are Champions Of YP4T Football Tourney

A two-day football tournament organised by the Young Professionals For Tinubu (YP4T), to drum support amongst youths for the All Progressive Congress ( APC ) Presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, was concluded Saturday in Lagos.




According to Chairman of Youths Professionals For Tinubu (YP4T), Hon. John CDO Ikeotuonye, it was put together to tell youths the importance of exercising their franchise as well as voting in a credible, reliable, capable and tested technocrat as the next President of Nigeria which Tinubu represents.

” This championship was put together to create political awareness among the youths and make them realise the importance of casting their votes for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu who is the most capable person that will take over from President Mohammadu Buhari come May, 29 this year .

Tournament Director, Alex Oware described the competition as a huge success positing that he’s happy they were able to achieve their aim of putting it together.

“I’m very excited that we achieved our aim of organising this tournament because many youths came out to identify with us and as a body we’ll continue to carry out projects that will impact positively on the country’s teeming youths who are leaders of tomorrow”, he explained.

In the final match, Rising Star Fc, Ikeja defeated hard fighting Funfon Fc of Badagri by 4-2 penalties after their game ended goalless at regulation time to emerge winners of the competition while the third place match was won by Depros Fc of Ikeja after beating their opponent Amoros Fc of Agege by 2-0.

Winners of the competition went home with N250,000 while the first and second runners-up got N150,000 and N100,000 respectively. Each participating team also got an appearance cash reward of N50,000, branded T-shirts and other consolation gifts.There were also award for best goalkeeper, highest goal scorer and fair play award.
