Stop Chasing Shadows, Baribote Tells Bolaji Abdullahi

By: Akinkunle Bolarinwa

Former Nigeria Premier football League Chairman Victor Baribote said he was surprised with the comments made by the former Minister because he was the man guilty of destroying the league by masterminding his removal from office in the first place.

"I was removed from office by Bolaji Abdulahi for no concrete reason because he had his plans to install the League management Company, LMC".

"And the LMC he removed me for further took the league backward from where it was when I was there because we were among the top leagues in Africa then and we were not owing staff salaries ".

Baribote emphasised the need for Bolaji Abdulahi to be very grateful to the current Sports minister Sunday Dare who came to clean his mess by restructuring the league with the current Interim Management Committee , IMC.

" I think Bolaji should rather be grateful to his brother Sunday Dare who  saw the rot caused by the LMC he created and decided to revamp the league with the current IMC led by Gbenga Elegbeleye ".

" Unless anybody just wants to be negative , we are all witness to the good work the IMC is doing so far and there are immediate changes we are already seeing in the league which has been missing for so many years of LMC".

" I will rather advise Bolaji Abdulahi to remain quiet as he has been since he was disgraced out of office rather than talking which will expose him more", Bari stated.

States Football Associations Should Adopt the Ekiti FA Model - Dr. Babatunde 'Tee' Akinbinu

Akinkunle Bolarinwa  Executive Board Member of the Ondo State Football Association, Dr. Babatunde 'Tee' Akinbinu has advised State Football Associations Chairmen in Nigeria to borrow the template for football development exemplified by Ekiti State Football Association in the last three and half years. "The reason why Ekiti State FA works and looks so beautiful is because Mr Bayo Lanlege the Ekiti FA chairman threw his hat in the ring and is leading from the front on matters of football development in Ekiti State without any subvention funding from the Government of Ekiti State." The sagacious Sports Physician asserts that Nigeria needs pragmatic leadership to lead the new path for football development.  "It is a huge irony that I am in Ondo and he is in Ekiti, really. If we had 30 State FA Chairmen in Nigeria like Mr Lanlege of the Ekiti State FA, out of the 37 State FA Chairmen we have in Nigeria, we would NOT be talking about bad governance in football admini...
