We Did Not Abandon The Delta And Kebbi Projects- Monimichele warns Naysayers

Akinkunle Bolarinwa

The Chief Executive Officer of Monimichele pitch construction company, Honourable Ebi Egbe stated in clear terms that the Delta and Kebbi project has never been abandoned.

According to him, the projects are still ongoing and would be completed in due time.

Honourable Egbe said he has never withdrawn his services from any projects in Nigeria.

"We have staff residing and working in Ogborodo, we spent over a year cutting down the 10% steep slope to a level that is suitable for a stadium construction, the overgrown grasses in his picture is actually the pitch level, the pitch level and drainage was constructed over a year ago".

The pitch expert stated that pavilion at the construction site was just recently constructed and there are different stages on that pavilion construction, starting from cutting down the site 10% steep slope on 2 hectares of land to the required level of the facilities, a full raft foundation, form works casting, filling, mechanical and electrical and matting of the base and columns, before the main pavilion rungs iron work, form work before casting of the pavilion which was recently done.

"We must wait minimum 21 days to remove the form work because it is a serious work and we don't cut corners".

He stated further that Ogborodo terrain is a totally different ball game, the Ogborodo land is not a stable land so must be completely rafted.

"We are working with a red-line drawing prepared by the consultant and I will not blame the NFF because the project has a FIFA paid consultant who was paid to do a proper preliminary inspection and survey of the site before coming up with a bid document".

Egbe disclosed that the Kebbi site is easily accessible and motorable and there is no steep slope, it is a flat land so foundational drawings( PAD FOUNDATION) that works in Kebbie that has a stable land cannot work in Ogborodo that is over 550 kilometer deep in the Atlantic Ocean(FULL RAFT FOUNDATION).

"In construction any shift in the goal post without recourse to the bill of quantity has to be managed appropriately and that is exactly what we are doing".

"But in all, we are confidence of quality delivery because we don’t construct 100% rubber synthetic Pitches associated with FIFA goal projects around the world".

The Bayelsa-born philanthropist opined that his company does not do low budget construction that may jeopardise the existence of human lives.

"Our projects are not shredded with secrecy, we run an open policy with our projects and that’s one of our main marketing strategies in this industry, we take questions and respond appropriately".

States Football Associations Should Adopt the Ekiti FA Model - Dr. Babatunde 'Tee' Akinbinu

Akinkunle Bolarinwa  Executive Board Member of the Ondo State Football Association, Dr. Babatunde 'Tee' Akinbinu has advised State Football Associations Chairmen in Nigeria to borrow the template for football development exemplified by Ekiti State Football Association in the last three and half years. "The reason why Ekiti State FA works and looks so beautiful is because Mr Bayo Lanlege the Ekiti FA chairman threw his hat in the ring and is leading from the front on matters of football development in Ekiti State without any subvention funding from the Government of Ekiti State." The sagacious Sports Physician asserts that Nigeria needs pragmatic leadership to lead the new path for football development.  "It is a huge irony that I am in Ondo and he is in Ekiti, really. If we had 30 State FA Chairmen in Nigeria like Mr Lanlege of the Ekiti State FA, out of the 37 State FA Chairmen we have in Nigeria, we would NOT be talking about bad governance in football admini...
