You Have No Right To Appoint Another Vice Chairman - Ondo State FA Board Warns Chairman

Akinkunle Bolarinwa

After the recent appointment of Mr Gabriel Aborowa as the acting vice chairman of the state football association, some members of the FA are concerned that the Chairman of the association Otunba Dele Ajayi has taken a unilateral decision without consulting the congress or board members.

They argued that the principle of due procedure process was applied.

"Chairman appointing himself an Acting Vice Chairman is an aberration".

"Even the Press release said the Chairman approved.

Who made the recommendation that he approved???".

The board members and some few stakeholders warn that Otunba Sunday Ajayi should stop harrogating too much power to himself.

"Everyone he did is illegal"

They stated further that the elected vice notified the board of his intention to take a leave absence doesn't translate that he should be replaced without his consent.

"That a Vice Chairman notifies that he would be studying abroad doesn't mean he should be removed".

According to information made available to Apexmedia2020.blogspot.com, Otunba Sunday Ajayi is also guilty of being absent without leave.

"He spends half of his time in New Jersey, where two of his children got married within the last 3 years and where he had his 60th birthday".

"All that didn't make anyone appoint another person as chairman".

The concerned board members stated further that the elected vice chairman is still very active and only the congress or the executive board of the state FA can vote or select a new vice chairman.

"The vice chairman isn't in jail. He can still act as Vice Chairman - except that Otunba has technically removed him because he is in the UK".

States Football Associations Should Adopt the Ekiti FA Model - Dr. Babatunde 'Tee' Akinbinu

Akinkunle Bolarinwa  Executive Board Member of the Ondo State Football Association, Dr. Babatunde 'Tee' Akinbinu has advised State Football Associations Chairmen in Nigeria to borrow the template for football development exemplified by Ekiti State Football Association in the last three and half years. "The reason why Ekiti State FA works and looks so beautiful is because Mr Bayo Lanlege the Ekiti FA chairman threw his hat in the ring and is leading from the front on matters of football development in Ekiti State without any subvention funding from the Government of Ekiti State." The sagacious Sports Physician asserts that Nigeria needs pragmatic leadership to lead the new path for football development.  "It is a huge irony that I am in Ondo and he is in Ekiti, really. If we had 30 State FA Chairmen in Nigeria like Mr Lanlege of the Ekiti State FA, out of the 37 State FA Chairmen we have in Nigeria, we would NOT be talking about bad governance in football admini...
