As the head coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria, Jose Peseiro named his 23-man squad for the upcoming African Cup of Nations (AFCON) double-header qualifying games against Guinea Bissau, Former Super Eagles International and a member of the technical department of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Mallam Garba Lawal says he has no issues with the list of players invited by the Portuguese gaffer.
"The coach knows better than you and I ,so I don't have a problem with that".
You will recall that the late delivery of the team's list generated so much noise and the list itself has become a subject of controversy within the public domain.
The list was unveiled in a statement released by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and Garba has called for caution.
"He is the coach of the team so let's wait and see first what he will deliver".
Garba told Apexmedia2020.blogspot.com that it would be suicidal to alter the team's list at this point.
"He can’t change the team list at the moment because it will affect his game plan".
According to him, he expects the Super Eagles coach to make do with the personnel within his disposal and perfect a game plan.
"I expect him to present a good match day squad and by then he will get a good result".
Nigeria will play Guinea Bissau at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, at 5 pm on March 24, before proceeding for the second leg of the tie at the Estadio 24 de Setembro in Bissau three days later.
The Eagles are leaders of group A of the qualification round with six points from victories over Sierra Leone and Sao Tome and Principe.
