How Eddy Dombraye Lost His Job At Lobi Stars FC

He came with a rich profile but with little domestic league experience and so the management of Lobi Stars risked giving the job to an untested quality from the diaspora.


His name is Eddy Lord Dombraye, an ex Super Eagles International and former coach of Lobi Stars Football Club of Makurdi.


Eddy Dombraye was a household name during his playing days and holds an impeccable coaching licence from Europe. 


The Ukraine based coach was first courted by an NNL club and was about earning a contract before things went sour


Few months later, Lobi came calling through a friend who had submitted Dombraye's profile to the club.


At a time Lobi Stars were looking for a coach to save the club from unpleasant situation, Eddy Lord Dombraye, then name was suggested and the former vice chairman of the club Mr Terna decided to offer him the job because of his rich profile but things didn't work out perfectly as Dombraye was booted out in less than six months.


In a bid to save Eddy Lord Dombraye's job, three months into his reign as the coach of Lobi Stars, former national team assistant coach was suggested to be added to the coaching crew as his assistant however that didn't work out because it was alleged that Eddy himself truncated such an important decision. 


According to a source who spoke with Apexmedia2020.blogspot.com Lobi Stars offered Eddy Lord Dombraye one of the best contracts on offer but the coach got carried away by the massive cash out and was unable to turn in the results on the pitch of play.


Though it was reported that Eddy Lord Dombraye didn't recruit most of the players at his disposal then, he didn't even bother to demand for players that could turn the table around for him because he was distracted. 


No doubt Eddy Lord Dombraye is a good coach but nevertheless he is not that a good manager for such onerous task


During the period of his travails at Lobi Stars, it was said that Eddy Lord Dombraye turned his back on most of his friends and supporters, he left them in the cold and never reached out to them for help or support on how to manoeuvre his way from the clogwire.


By the time Lobi decided to fire him, it was due to poor string of results and not for any indecent behaviour. 


The question before us is, how does a coach with one of the best profiles now become a Gaffer with the worst ability?


Lobi Stars have settled 90 percent of Dombraye's severance package and he is demanding for the final payment so that he can be off the hook of Lobi Stars.
