The general overseer of INRI, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has refuted claims of prophesying for the Flying Eagles of Nigeria.
The cleric who said this through his media aide
noted that he never made any prophecy concerning the national team.
Apexmedia2020.blogspot.com had reported that Primate Ayodele reiterated his prophecy that Flying Eagles will win the AFCON U20 in Egypt and which did not come to pass.
But reacting to the allegation, the media aide revered Primate stated that the pronouncements of the Primate wasn't a prophecy.
"This was not a prophecy, it was a statement encouraging the NFF and players to put in their best to ensure they come back home with the trophy"
"It was just an encouragement like a declaration to motivate the players"
Also reacting to the allegation of the Primate prophesying that former vice president of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar winning the presidential election, the media aide debunked such insinuation stating that it was never true.
"I believe the Atiku Abubakar part is also a misinterpretation, what we said was that, Atiku is God's choice but is the people's votes that will determine his victory. We categorically said in the statement released that our prophecy isn't saying Atiku will win but it was twisted".
