 I want to play for Nigeria – Mike Gbajie eyes call-up National Under 23 Team

Gulf United top striker, Mike Gbajie has expressed his desire to play for  Nigeria. 


The 20-year-old, who currently is the highest goal scorer for Gulf united football club of Dubai (UAE) and just won promotion for the club to the elite division. 


The gargling striker is eligible to play for the black most populous nation due to his half-Nigerian, half-German mother.



Gbajie, who helped Gulf United FC win promotion from UAEFA division two league to division one, says playing for Nigeria would be an honour, and he is proud of his Nigerian heritage.


“It would be an honour to represent my country and win trophies with the national team".


“I am proud of my Nigerian heritage, and I believe it gives me the strength, power, and wisdom to achieve anything I want in life.



With Olympic qualifiers still on, Mike Gbajie is optimistic he can help the team in the attack considering the numbers of goals he has scored for his team this term.


"I scored 17 goals and 6 assists for my former club FV Langenwinkel football club of Germany and I replicated the same form when I joined Gulf United this season".


The Abia state born German striker says Gulf united always worked hard and it showed from game to game that they were always the best team of the league. 


I believe the opportunity to play for Nigeria could push me to my potential".


The 20 yrs old striker is considering dumping Germany for Nigeria to help the Olympic Under 23 team


Big Mike' is goal machine and had  scored 26 goals and 15 assist in 2021 /2022 season and in 2022 /2023 season before Gulf united bought this January.
