Let's  Declare A State Of Emergency On Nigerian Football  - Football Stakeholders Appeal To NFF

Akinkunle Bolarinwa

Football stakeholders are calling the Nigerian Football Federation to declare a state of emergency on the nation's football because of the incessant problems and challenges confronting the game.

According to them, the way all Nigerian national teams are playing, many Nigerians could lose faith in the country’s football.

They told Apexmedia2020.blogspot.com that the last time any national team made Nigeria proud is still in the 90s.

Therefore they are calling on NFF to declare a state of emergency in Nigerian football starting from the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) to various national teams if the country wants to get it right.

The stakeholders suggested that the NFF must ensure that Nigerian coaches must upgrade themselves by going for refresher courses to understand modern day football.

Mohammed abdulqadir a football stakeholder said, "Nigeria is annoying to watch before even listening to commentary on radio without necessarily watching when we hear  "Taribo to Oliseh, oliseh send the ball to Finidi we all know who gets the Ball next and we hear the goal".

" Nowadays we just hear Balogun send the ball to Osimehen  ooh Lesotho defence intersect, Zaidu to Paul ooohh.... Malaysia's defence intersects....Chad dribbles and Ndidi shoots from centre ....ooohhh!!! Uzoho is beaten in the goal post".

They said that there is nothing inspiring in all the national teams again because all of them are wobbling and fumbling.

"Please let's do the needful and clear national teams of shaft players and get serious ones".

States Football Associations Should Adopt the Ekiti FA Model - Dr. Babatunde 'Tee' Akinbinu

Akinkunle Bolarinwa  Executive Board Member of the Ondo State Football Association, Dr. Babatunde 'Tee' Akinbinu has advised State Football Associations Chairmen in Nigeria to borrow the template for football development exemplified by Ekiti State Football Association in the last three and half years. "The reason why Ekiti State FA works and looks so beautiful is because Mr Bayo Lanlege the Ekiti FA chairman threw his hat in the ring and is leading from the front on matters of football development in Ekiti State without any subvention funding from the Government of Ekiti State." The sagacious Sports Physician asserts that Nigeria needs pragmatic leadership to lead the new path for football development.  "It is a huge irony that I am in Ondo and he is in Ekiti, really. If we had 30 State FA Chairmen in Nigeria like Mr Lanlege of the Ekiti State FA, out of the 37 State FA Chairmen we have in Nigeria, we would NOT be talking about bad governance in football admini...
