Meet One Of The Finest and Most Resourceful Football Administrator in Nigeria, Gabriel Davies

He is calm, quiet, easy going but efficiently effective. In a sane clime, men like Gabriel Davies should be begged to bring their wealth of experience on board in the development of Nigeria football.

Unfortunately, we live in a country where prophets are not respected, where excellence is not celebrated and where mediocrity thrives.

As Chairman and financier of Ottasolo Football Club of Lagos, Davies has a reputation of unearthing some of Nigeria's finest football talents. He passionately combs the nook and crannies of Nigeria, in search of the next football Superstar.

In the last few years, Ottasolo has continued to do exploits in the lower leagues from where most of her players have moved on to top NPFL teams, while a few others have helped themselves into the Under 20 National team, the Olympic Eagles and the home based Super Eagles team.

Davies who discovered the likes of Muri Ogunbiyi and Razak Omotoyosi, two players who later decided to play for neighbouring Benin Republic, saw his club relegated back to the Nationwide league last year after only one season in the NNL but he says he will not lose hope in Nigeria football just yet as he sees a great future ahead for the round leather game.

He has an ambition to offer his little knowledge in whatever capacity to the development of football in Nigeria in the present dispensation.

"I love Nigeria football and I believe that the glory days will return under this present NFF leadership. I am willing to offer my support to the Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau led NFF executive committee in whatever capacity they deem fit to serve. I know a good player if I see one and I am a transformer of talents so being a member of the NFF technical Committee will just be ideal but like I said, the choice is not mine to make, I just want to be involved in the success story of Nigeria football going forward"

One of Ottasolo's recent discoveries, Boluwaji Shodumade who was a member of the Ladan Bosso led Flying Eagles team that won the Under 20 WAFU Cup last year, was.dropped in the very last minute from the current Flying Eagles team that have made it into the last four of the Nations Cup in Egypt

States Football Associations Should Adopt the Ekiti FA Model - Dr. Babatunde 'Tee' Akinbinu

Akinkunle Bolarinwa  Executive Board Member of the Ondo State Football Association, Dr. Babatunde 'Tee' Akinbinu has advised State Football Associations Chairmen in Nigeria to borrow the template for football development exemplified by Ekiti State Football Association in the last three and half years. "The reason why Ekiti State FA works and looks so beautiful is because Mr Bayo Lanlege the Ekiti FA chairman threw his hat in the ring and is leading from the front on matters of football development in Ekiti State without any subvention funding from the Government of Ekiti State." The sagacious Sports Physician asserts that Nigeria needs pragmatic leadership to lead the new path for football development.  "It is a huge irony that I am in Ondo and he is in Ekiti, really. If we had 30 State FA Chairmen in Nigeria like Mr Lanlege of the Ekiti State FA, out of the 37 State FA Chairmen we have in Nigeria, we would NOT be talking about bad governance in football admini...
