My Sick Colleagues Must Not Die! Bayelsa United Please Pay Us Now- Solomon

Two key members of the Bayelsa United team that represented the state during the 2014/2015 Nigeria Premier League Season are currently battling with serious health issues and are appealing to the Bayelsa  state government to urgently come to their aide as they seek financial assistance for medical attention.

Captain of the 2014 Bayelsa United team, Junior Solomon in an exclusive chat with NSM Media, said both players are battling with serious health challenges that requires urgent medical attention.

"One of these players according to Gabrial is currently being owed over 4m naira by the Bayelsa state government, while the other is owed 3.2m naira.

This money is part of outstanding match bonuses that is yet to be paid by the club, eight years after these players represented the state in the Nigeria Premier League, NPL.

"We are using this medium to appeal to the executive governor of the state to please come to the aide of these players. 28 members of the 2014/2015 team are being owed sign on fees ranging from one million naira to over five million naira. The good thing is that, the current governor of Bayelsa State, Douye Diri, was a former commissioner of Sports and is well aware of all that transpired at that time

"At this point, we are not begging for financial assistance, we are only saying please pay us our outstanding sign-on fees so that our sick colleagues can be able to access medical treatment, Solomon pleaded.

On March 17 this year, just one day to the Gubernitorial elections across the country, a few members of the 2014 Bayelsa United team, staged a peaceful protect near Township School Ovom, in Yenagoa, to once again express their grievances after previous appeals fell on deaf ears.
