As both the Golden Eaglets and the Future Eagles of Nigeria speed up preparations ahead of the forthcoming coming AFCON U17 and the U15 Dream Cup
tournaments in the month of April, Former national team coach, Manu Garba MON, OON has called on the leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation to channel their energy towards developing new talents for the nation's national senior team.
Speaking exclusively to Apexmedia2020.blogspot.com the former Golden Eaglets and Flying Eagles coach believes that the future lies in the youth team set up.
Garba who won the AFCON U20 tournament in Senegal years back with 90 percent home based players posited that there are qualities in homegrown talents.
" We have very good youth development and many of our young talents are all capable of making it to the top".
Manu affirmed that Nigeria is still a force to be reckoned with in age grade competitions in the world.
"We are still number 1 in the world having won the FIFA U17 World cup on five Occasions and I must say that if most of the good players we have are groomed together then we will have a formidable national team".
