Segun Giwa is an unknown name in the football fraternity in Nigeria but he is one of the hatchet men of Ondo Football Association and a puppet to the chairman.
A day ago, he published an article misleading the public on the achievements of the state football body which were blatant lies and falsehood.
Apexmedia2020.blogspot.com conducted a series of serious investigations on the statements obtained from Mr Giwa's publication and the truth has been discovered.
We pieced and arranged his statements and paired it with our discovery and what we deduced will shock many readers.
First we have to remind Mr Giwa who wrote the misguided piece that he should read up history and find out about Hitler's Joseph Goebbels as well as Abacha's Walter Ofonagoro.
Both men, amongst several other inglorious publicists of vain and purposeless leaders, who had publicists like Mr Giwa are exhibiting.
There was a vox pop in Oke Agbe, in IleOluji of IleOluji/Okeigbi, in Igbobini in EseOdo and Iju town of Akure North LGA where Otunba Dele Ajayi himself is the local council chairman, to ask if the inhabitants know anything about football development programmes of the NFF through the State FA. Not even one of the respondents on the streets knew anything called the Ondo State FA or any of its purported programmes.
Residents were generally stunned to hear that there is expected to be NFF and FIFA presence trickling to their communities to develop the children playing football in the communities.
So whatever Mr Giwa is saying is not supported by empirical evidence on the streets of most parts of Ondo State, outside Akure, where Otunba lives and was at a point in time the traditional ruler and Regent of the state capital. Talk of a nepotistic leader focusing only on his own community to the disservice of the rest of the State.
Now, that said, let's tease his poor rebuttal piece by piece:
Mr Giwa said the Ondo state FA under Otunba Dele Ajayi has in the last two years achieved all these claims below:
1. Training of 100 coaches from states across the South-West states. He stated that other state FA Chairmen commended Ondo state FA across the region then.
Apexmedia2020.blogspot.com fact-checking found out that this claim is merely half true. What licence did the supposedly trained Coaches receive? CAF, NIS or UEFA Coaching licences? Certainly not any of the globally recognised coaching licences.
If Otunba railroaded the State FA to pay a business associate of his who worked as a FCAAN Consultant at that of his to supposedly host a 1 day Coaching clinic that was freely donated by Dr Terry Eguaoje of FCAAN for grassroot coaches all over South West Nigeria, how is that something to make a mountain out of a molehill?
The Lagos State Football Association has hosted several of such FCAAN courses without making any noise. A 1-day Coaching clinic is certainly not anything to celebrate in 14 years of leading a State and a 2-term NFF Board Member.
In addition, the said Coaches have been left rudderless since the said training with no active engagement anywhere, making the said knowledge gather dust. Otunba himself was a 'student' at the Coaching clinic. Would he say he is a 'trained coach' anywhere in the world, because he attended a 1-day clinic of the lowest level of Coaching Education, the F Course offered by FCAAN?

2. Giwa also asserted that the Bet9ja Ondo State Football League news and from start to finish is everywhere. He directed his audience to 'go to Facebook and follow betnaija odfl', suggesting that 'the news are there'.
Apexmedia2020.blogspot.com factcheck however revealed that unlike his claims, nobody needs to beg to see where the progressive State Football Associations like Lagos State Football League or the Kano League or the beautiful Ekiti State Football league, also sponsored by Bet9ja have their events. If such obscure and dodgy websites or ambiguous social media channels are the places where potential investors and football agents have to look for in order to see the supposed talents that the said State League produced, then it must be a practically worthless exercise where the footballers and coaches got little or no global exposure. Such players and coaches are more likely to stagnate. No wonder there has been no player from Ondo State earned 3 senior national team call ups in all of Otunba's years of leadership, aside Godfrey Oboabona.
3. Giwa also wrote that the FA cup was done and sunshine won the 2023 edition.

Otunba Sunday Dele-Ajayi's poor leadership in the Ondo State FA has almost always produced Sunshine Stars as annual champions in his entire 14 years. It shows how stagnated football is under Otunba, buttressing the fact that there is no developmental football structure that can challenge the government sponsored State football team despite all the hundreds of millions of naira that has passed through the Ondo State Football Association account under Dele-Ajayi's eagle cornering for over a decade.
4. Mr Segun Giwa also claimed that the hosting of National teams coaches is an 'achievement' of Dele-Ajayi. He wrote that 'Bosso was in Akure, Jose Paseiro was the latest, if you want to see the news , Google is your friend.'
However, Apexmedia2020.blogspot.com findings reveal that it is a shame that Otunba Sunday Dele-Ajayi and his FA media officer now write that they hosted the National Team coaches. It shows how low they have descended. Jose Paseiro was in town in the NFF capacity as National Team Coach, to watch a NPFL match. He didn't see any football player in Otunba's FA to invite to his team selection thereafter. How can Dele-Ajayi and his Media officer be celebrating this?
When did it become something to celebrate when a National team coach visits any stadium or city in Nigeria in a venture fully paid and supported by the NFF? It may show a lot of grandiose delusion on the part of Mr Giwa and his Principal, Otunba Sunday Dele-Ajayi.
Mr Segun Giwa similarly lied about a Governor's cup competition floated by Ondo State Football Assocuatiom under Otunba Dele-Ajayi. He wrote that 'all processes completed'. Whatever that meant!
Apexmedia2020.blogspot.com can reveal that there is certainly no Governor's Cup tournament in Ondo State as of today. It is shameful that an unborn baby is being listed as a celebrated member of a family when the family has been unable to show any success with the children it should cater for.
6. Giwa added that 'under age football tournaments are not left out'.
Apexmedia2020.blogspot.com finds his statements untruthful and hilarious. The media officer has nothing to show with this. The author he is criticising is the media officer of the Future Eagles. He should know whether there is anything developmental in Ondo Football or not. There is none, beside hurridly assembled school children who were taken to Lagos from Akure, Owo and Idanre towns of Ondo State for the 1-day Invitational competition at Ajegunle where the Ondo State teams could not win any of their two matches againat other South West State teams.
7. Segun Giwa also gloated that various state councils and zonal leagues have been concluded and are still ongoing.
Apexmedia2020.blogspot.com can report that this is another hogwash. Some oft-peddled words that are essentially empty. Where are the players and coaches and match officials that have graduated from the said 'state council and zonal leagues'? Is the 'State Council league different from the nebulous State League where Bet9ja's sponsorship funds were apparently wasted in (1) above?
8. He further claimed that 'Sunshine Stars can't deny enjoying cordial relationships with the state FA'.
Apexmedia2020.blogspot.com learnt that this indeed is the apex of Otunba Sunday Dele-Ajayi's achievements as Ondo State Football Association Chairman for 14 continuous years since 2010. To collect money from the State Government and Sunshine Stars while doing absolutely nothing to develop the millions of Ondo children playing football on the streets.
In conclusion Apexmedia2020.blogspot.com has established that Mr Segun Giwa is sponsored serial liar under the sponsorship of the state FA and other pay masters.
In his efforts to discredit the Apexmedia medium, he has unexpectedly exposed himself and his collaborators.
