Some players at Nigerian
Premier League side Bayelsa United FC are crying foul over unpaid dues which date back to 2012.
The top tier club is under the management of the Bayelsa State Government and all their salaries are paid by the state's department. Players who are once on the payroll of the club are the ones crying foul since some of their colleagues are also suffering the same problem.
"The situation is unbearable, we have not yet been paid and they have kept us in the dark," a source told
"We have families that entirely depend on us. We also need to venture into personal projects but where is the money?
“I have a sick mother and I am the sole breadwinner for the family," another one said.
