Nigeria’s U16 boys, Future Eagles have been drawn against four time champions Japan, Netherlands and USA in the Dream Cup tournament.

The Future Eagles must dig their feet in order to scale through the group to avoid crashing out early.

At the draw ceremony for the tournament held in Japan a few months ago, the host will pose a big threat to Future Eagles ambition having hosted and won the tournament since inception.

Japan is the most successful nation at the Dream Cup tournament since the competition was launched 8 years ago.

Nigeria’s Future Eagles finished as 3rd best in the 2019 Dream Cup, after winning just one game with two losses.

In 2019, Nigeria started the tournament with a 3-1 win over Mexico on 12th June, but lost against the host country Japan 4-1 on 14th June and against Romania 3-1 on the last day of the tournament on June 16th.

The Dream Cup will begin on the 31st of May 2023 and will be on the 4th of June 2023 in the city of  Fukushima at the J-Village Stadium.
