The inaugural edition of the Pan African Scrabble Association (PANASA) President's Cup (PPC) and the African Youth Scrabble Championship (AYSC) that took place at the luxurious and serine Orchid Hotel and Chrisland School in Lekki -Lagos, South West, Nigeria may have come and gone but the positive vibes, sweet memories and long lasting friendship coupled with a host of enduring partnership struck during and after both events is still echoing across the continent and beyond.


Report reaching your authoritative news channel has its that the players, officials as well as delegates and the corporate bodies that were part of the five days of the very best of African Scrabble and Nigeria's rich and warm hospitality and excellent organization of the championships are looking back with nostalgic feelings.


To cap up the chrished memories of the twin event, we gathered that one of Africa's leading apparel creative designers and producers, Frontpage Couture (FPC) has fulfilled it's pledge to kit the top 4 prize winners at the just concluded PANASA President’s Cup. 


The kitting deal between Pan African Scrabble Association (PANASA) and Frontpage Couture (FPC), include tastefully designed trending tops, pants and shoes were amongst the items given out to the winners:

The CEO of the FPC brand, Charles Uzamere a Nigerian Scrabble player and entrepreneur has also promised to support PANASA at future championships that include the African Scrabble Championship in Sierra Leone next year, the All African Games in Ghana also next year and the 2025 President's Cup.


Besides kitting the top four winners of the 32,000 dollars prize money President's Cup, Frontpage Couture (FPC) that kitted Team Nigeria to the last WESPA Championship in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA also dressed some selected players, officials and delegates during the championship.


Uganda's Geria Richard, one of the beneficiaries of Frontpage Couture kind gesture has this to say. “I and Dr. Egdar Odongkara were gifted stylised tops. I donned mine to an event whereupon all the males drooled in admiration. Bravo Monsiuer Uzamere.” He said.


The two Championships which were first of it's kind in Africa break new grounds in the areas of organization, attendance, marketing and sponsorship as well as media coverage that accompanied the historic Africa Youth Scrabble Championship Trophy Tour and the event itself.


Renowned Scrabble board and accessories manufacturer SamBoard was onboard the epoch making event alongside a multitude of sponsors, partners, supporters, associates, institutions, suppliers kind hearted deep pockets individuals from America, Ghana, Kenya, Uganda and host Nigeria to mention but a few.


The list also include, Nigeria Breweries Plc, Friesland Campina WAMCO Plc, Kenya Airways, Diageo Nigeria, Air Peace, Winifred Awosika Foundation, Ojeyz Security based in Ghana, Ayoci Energies Ltd, Atelier Architects, which is also a Ghanaian firm, Thrive Agriculture, SocialLiga, Midas Farm, Cinq-SAA, Madoms Global Trade, Boaz Commodities Ltd, Petrichor Group of Industries and BradMein Nigeria Ltd among others


Well meaning stakeholders and individuals with deep pockets and kind hearts like Engineer Gbenga Ojofeitimi, Dr Musa Olasupo, Engineer Ojior Osikhena, Samuel Anikoh, Austin Isiekwe of Austin Isiekwe and Co accounting firm and architect SM Quartey have lubricated the sponsorship, partnership and support base of the PANASA President's Cup.


It's noteworthy to mention that Chrisland School Lekki's A List facilities and the beautiful Orchid Hotel also in Lekki that hosted both events were a haven for all the over 350 players, officials, sponsors and journalists from ten countries in attendance during the championships.


The President of PANASA, Adekoyejo Adegbesan, says Frontpage Couture fulfilling it pledge is a sign of many glad tidings to come for the game of words in Africa.


Ghana are the next host of the President's Cup while Kenya will welcome all the African youths in 2025.
