CAF 2023 Awards: Okumagba Fetes Osimhen, Oshoala, Unveils Big Plan For AFCON



The National President of the Super Eagles Supporters Club (SESC), Prince Vincent Okumagba has congratulated the trio of Victor Osimhen, Asisat Oshoala and Chiamaka Nnadozie that made Nigeria proud by emerging winners in different categories during the CAF 2023 Awards held in Marrakech, Morocco.



Okumagba who is also the Vice President of Africa’s Football Supporter’s body in a congratulatory message issued and made available to newsmen also expressed happiness over the Super Falcons of Nigeria that won 2023 Women’s National Team of the Year.


It’s a sparkling sixth win for Oshoala in the category, while Osimhen claimed the honour for a first time in his career. Osimhen is the first Nigerian man to claim the prize since Nwankwo Kanu in 1999.



“I am very excited tonight. This has been hugely rewarding for our football and for our country as a whole.”

“As the country is in a celebratory mood, with Nigerians happy to see the country back at the top of African football again, I want to congratulate the leadership of Nigeria Football Federations (NFF) and also distinguished members of my group, the Super Eagles Supporters Club (SESC),” Okumagba noted.



He however revealed his plans to organize a massive contingent of supporters to cheer the Super Eagles to victory when the AFCON 2023 scheduled to kick off in the Ivorian cities of Abidjan, Bouake, Korhogo, San Pedro and Yamoussoukro from 13 January to 11 February 2024 gets underway.



“In my quest to ensure good support for the Eagles as Nigeria will be looking to claim a fourth African crown in Ivory Coast, I will be sponsoring some key members of the group which comprises of drummers and trumpeters to the 34th edition of the biennial African association football tournament organised by CAF,” he added.
