Dear Grassroot Coaches,

 Dear Grassroot Coaches,

As we look ahead to 2024, I would like to share some advice with all of you who dedicate your time and efforts to grassroots coaching. I understand that grassroots coaching is often a voluntary program, and the majority of you do not receive a regular salary. However, it is essential to ensure that you are not solely dependent on the young players in Africa for your income.

In order to secure a more substantial payment for your coaching services, I encourage you to invest in further coach education and certification. By obtaining qualifications such as CAF, AFC, or UEFA coaching certificates, you can enhance your coaching skills and increase your marketability. These certifications will not only provide you with a competitive edge but also demonstrate your commitment to professional development.

Moreover, acquiring additional coaching education will equip you with a broader knowledge base, enabling you to deliver higher quality coaching sessions. This, in turn, can lead to greater recognition and potential paid opportunities within the coaching industry.

While I understand the financial challenges many grassroots coaches face, it is crucial to find alternative sources of income in order to sustain yourself while contributing to the development of young players. Consider exploring part-time jobs or other income-generating activities that align with your skills and schedule. This will help to provide you with a stable income and alleviate any financial burden.

Remember, as grassroots coaches, your role is invaluable in nurturing young talent and promoting the growth of African football. By taking steps to enhance your coaching qualifications and seeking additional income sources, you can continue to provide your expertise and make a positive impact on the lives of aspiring footballers.

Wishing you all the best for a successful and fulfilling 2024.

Best regards,

@Coach Kobayashi Obalola
