NPFL League Body To Sanction Katsina United For Violating Administrative Criteria Of NFF Club Licensing Regulations

The Nigeria Premier Football League, could sanction Katsina United FC for running contrary to the extant rules governing the administration of football in Nigeria.

Katsina United FC are yet to respond to the query it got from the league body, several months after the Katsina state government installed an Interim Board to over-see the affairs of the club following the order for the  Alhaji Surajo Baba Malumfashi led board to step aside.

According to news making the rounds, the NPFL board is considering hammering Katsina United with heavy fine and suspension for going against the extant rules of the league.

It is said that, Katsina United may be ducked three (3) points for presenting a coach that is not registered in accordance with the club licensing requirements on a game day match between Katsina United FC and Insurance FC of Benin.

The NPFL board has already invalidated the appointment of an Interim Management Committee for Katsina United led by Mallam Dan'lami Rimi, in a notice sent date 24th October 2023.

The NPFL stated in its memo that the league board will not recognize any interim management committee and any decisions taking by the interim committee is not binding.

"Consequent on the above, the Board of the Nigeria Premier Football League will only recognize the officials listed whose names and credentials were submitted during the Club Licensing exercise for the 2023/2024 Season, unless a substantive appointment is made and the appointed officials are registered in accordance with Club Licensing requirements."

Katsina United may be punished for going against the personnel and administrative criteria of the NFF club licensing regulations.

Football stakeholders in Katsina State are calling for immediate return of Alhaji Surajo Baba Malumfashi as the chairman of the club.

The concerned stakeholders believes the initial suspension of  Alhaji Surajo Baba Malumfashi was politically motivated hence they are calling the state government to reinstate Alhaji Surajo Baba Malumfashi immediately.

Akinkunle Bolarinwa  Executive Board Member of the Ondo State Football Association, Dr. Babatunde 'Tee' Akinbinu has advised State Football Associations Chairmen in Nigeria to borrow the template for football development exemplified by Ekiti State Football Association in the last three and half years. "The reason why Ekiti State FA works and looks so beautiful is because Mr Bayo Lanlege the Ekiti FA chairman threw his hat in the ring and is leading from the front on matters of football development in Ekiti State without any subvention funding from the Government of Ekiti State." The sagacious Sports Physician asserts that Nigeria needs pragmatic leadership to lead the new path for football development.  "It is a huge irony that I am in Ondo and he is in Ekiti, really. If we had 30 State FA Chairmen in Nigeria like Mr Lanlege of the Ekiti State FA, out of the 37 State FA Chairmen we have in Nigeria, we would NOT be talking about bad governance in football admini...
