Following the recent outburst by the former vice president of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF Amanze Uchegbulam on the purported ruling of the Appeal court nullifying the elections of the Nigeria Football Federation, football stakeholders in the country are calling for caution regarding the unguided utterances that may plunge the football system in the nation into disrepute.
Amanze Uchegbulam in his recent recreational outburst accused the NFF of disregarding the advice from the then Minister of Sports, Mr Sunday Dare, that the 2022 NFF elections be suspended because of an induced court order.
However our findings shows that Amanze Uchegbulam is not being truthful because there was a counter order by the Nigeria Football Federation stopping all litigations against the elections which was duly obtained and processed through a competent court of jurisdiction.
Uchegbulam who was allegedly accused with others for misappropriating N2 billion when he was impeached by the NFF board on June 2, 2010 said the NFF disobeyed court order stopping the elections in 2022.
According to him, the counter order was procured through deceits as it was not from an authentic source.
Concerned stakeholders frowned at the allegations being circulated by Uchegbulam and they describe his new found recreational criticism as a fruitless exercise.
A football administrator who chose to stay unanimous stated that the action of Amanze Uchegbulam is a disrespect to the court of law.
"How can he accused the NFF of procuring a fake order to stop a jurisdiction, as a lawyer he ought to know better.
"And again, why didn't he sue the NFF for the alleged act of deceit if he is sure that the counter order is fake."
He said Uchegbulam knows that he stands no chance of winning the election against jugarnuts and heavyweights aspirants who were more grounded and competent than him.
"Uchegbulam is fighting back because there was no capacity for him to contest and win the election hence he is insulting and dragging those legitimate aspirants who contested in the elections."
Stakeholders are of the opinion that the alleged court order and the outburst of Amanze Uchegbulam are targeted to derail the success of the Super Eagles of Nigeria at th ongoing Africa Cup nations in Cote d'Ivoire.
The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF has maintained that, there was no court judgement recently served on its table.
